It’s beyond fun to get to talk with you about Lineage, about how genealogy works and about your own experiences. In the month since the book was published I’ve had the pleasure of talking with Liz Covart for the best history podcast, in my biased-but-that-doesn’t-make-it-wrong opinion, Ben Franklin’s World, and recorded a couple more. You can also listen to a short preview for Lineage on Ben Franklin’s World! I visited Symposium Books in my new hometown, Providence, Rhode Island. And I talked with lots of folks at the Washington Library at Mount Vernon and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
In the next year I’ll be doing plenty of events, online and on site. I’ll try to keep the information about forthcoming events, including registration, updated here.
In September, I’ll be:
Sept. 9: 12-1 online for the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History: https://www.connecticutmuseum.org/event/lunch-and-learn-lineage/
Sept. 10: 6:00 at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture in Richmond: https://secure.virginiahistory.org/3934/4196
Sept. 16: 7-8:30 online for the Memorial Hall Library, Andover Mass.: https://mhl.libnet.info/event/14135447
Sept. 18: online for the Congregational Library, Boston: https://congregationallibrary.org/events/lineage
Maybe even more for September, but definitely more info about October and November coming soon!
And if you come to an event with a book, or they have books there, don’t leave without a bookmark. I loved having these made at our local letterpress print shop, DWRI Letterpress. They require a citation because they are an homage to/ were absolutely based on bookmark-cards made for/ by the brilliant historian and novelist Deb Harkness. Who also provided advance praise for Lineage.
